My child is terribly fond of reading, so much so that he goes to sleep on the desk while he is reading at night. I want him to get used to using a bed, but it can’t be too far away from his bed. Can anyone suggest an option that would be both cost and space effective?

This is hardly a problem, I think your child should be encouraged more to read. However reading while lying down is not a great option as that tends to cause gradual but sure eye damage over a period of time. What I can suggest as the best option in such a case would be to have you invest in a Super Desk Space Saver. This not only provides you with an option to keep your child reading as and when he wants it but also allows him to catch some sleep on the special bunk bed when he is too tired to read anymore.

Parents can be so confused at times! At times they like their kids to keep quiet and not create a ruckus and then when their kid has gone ahead and chosen to lead a quiet life spent reading, the parent is overworked about him not sleeping well. Let the child be!

I understand your problem is not really one that cannot be helped. It is extremely important that a kid have the best of both worlds- a good reading and a great sleeping time. When your kid has tired of reading and needs to stretch and catch up on some sleep the best option that you can offer for his comfort would be a Super Desk Space Saver. Like the name suggests, not only do you save on ample space in the room, you can also go ahead and have your kid get creative with the space that has been offered to him. He can read when he wants, climb up and lie down and immerse himself in his own imaginary world while he sleeps comfortably, pick a book that he would like to read from the rack above the table and basically have a spectacular childhood spent amongst dreams and books.

Take it from the mother of a 9 year old boy, who can’t see a world beyond his books and who loves to weave his own stories when he reads himself to sleep. The Super Desk Space Saver is probably the best gift that you can give your child. It is an investment worth making and a wise decision that you will never regret. My boy had developed an annoying habit of spending all his time in bed reading and had left us wondering if we will ever be able to satiate his hunger for books or get him to bed to get some much needed rest. A friend suggested that we try the “bunk bed with attached table” concept and when we did, I couldn’t have asked for more. My child is really happy now, he reads like he’ll be the next Einstein and we love that hope- well why not?!
